What we don't do
Where our work stops.
We'd rather you read this now than find out later. None of it is boilerplate.
Specialist advice
Take specialist advice on these
Gambling and prize-draw rules
If your product involves an element of chance, UK regulation of it is fact-specific and in places unsettled. We don't advise on it. Get specialist UK gambling law advice before you launch. Getting this wrong can be a criminal matter, not just a tax one.
Consumer rights
UK consumers have statutory cancellation rights on distance sales. Terms written for another market don't carry over. Get independent advice on your customer terms.
Product regulation
Labelling, safety and restricted goods depend on what you sell. We'll flag what we spot. We don't advise on it.
Coordination
We coordinate, we don't opine
Transfer pricing
Needs an adviser qualified in both countries. We scope it, brief them, implement the outcome.
Your home-country tax
Stays with your existing adviser. We work with them.
Customs classification
Yours and your broker's call. We work to the classification you adopt.
Your side
Stays with you
- —Platform qualification for your shop, and the performance standards to keep it.
- —Buying, holding and owning stock in your home market, and the risk on it.
- —Making content, fulfilling orders, shipping.
- —Running the valuation procedure day to day — listing discipline, dispatch calls.
- —Giving us accurate product, supplier and pricing information. Our analysis is only as good as what you tell us.
Before you spend
One thing to sort before you spend anything
If your model means selling into a UK shop from an operation based overseas, get written confirmation from the platform that it's allowed for your account, naming the programme and any geographic limits. We'll help you get it. Don't pay for incorporation before it's in hand.
